Captain America Reborn #6Captain America Reborn #6 of 6
Marvel Comics
Brubaker, Hitch & Guice

Steve Rogers returns in this mini series finale. This is not a surprise because Steve Rogers has been in multiple Marvel titles since the beginning of December. What is surprising is how this issue plays out resolving the Ed Brubaker epic about the conspiracy, assassination and fallout from the Death of Captain America storyline that has been building for some three plus years. This issue is an okay story with some hokey elements and decent action, but doesn't come close to providing a fitting end to an otherwise amazing saga. To be blunt, this issue is among the worst, for various reasons, in the Brubaker run on Captain America.

Suspended Animation: Essential Man-Thing Volume 1

Suspended Animation Review

Essential Man-thing TPB Vol. 1Essential Man-Thing Volume 1, published by Marvel Publishing, Inc., 544 pages, $16.99.

Chalk up another reason to favor the Marvel Essentials line: Man-Thing. Never a big fan of Marvel's denizen of the swamps in my 30+ years as a comics reader, I've formed the opinion that it's because I never read more than an appearance here or there. Geek Goggle Reviews: Green Lantern #50

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews

Green Lantern #50Green Lantern #50
DC Comics
Johns, Mahnke & Alamy

The war of light sees plenty of action in this anniversary issue for the main Green Lantern title as Hal Jordan turns from Green Lantern to Parallax in order to combat the Spectre. The comic contains some fun dialogue among some of the new corps and has a decent little side story to the whole Blackest Night climax that this event should be reaching by now. The issue is definitely a fun read even if it seems to be cramming so much into one issue.
