MEET THE SAVANTS:

---

ALEC AUSTIN is a senior at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, where he's writing his thesis on the mathematical analysis of the children's game Dots and Boxes. He is presently sacrificing his health, his sanity, and his social life to finish a draft of his first novel (300+ pages and 36 chapters written since Dec 15!), which should be done by the end of January. Alec has worked as a nuclear reactor operator, run a comic library, and is a graduate of the Clarion West science fiction writer's workshop.

DAVE POTTER is gloating over winning a raffle item at his local comic shop (Comics Factory in Pasadena) because he NEVER wins raffles or anything. He even declared that before entering the raffle last week. This week, Dave is declaring that no one EVER gives him a million dollars, no strings attached. We'll see what happens.

Rocketed from the dying planet Skaro as an infant, PAUL T. RIDDELL currently runs the Dallas branch of the Lydia Lunch Daycare Center and Self-Flagellation Clinic (254 franchises in the US and Canada and growing!). Take a peek at "The Healing Power of Obnoxiousness" at http://www.hpoo.com

JOHN CECIL is never more than five feet away from a swiss army knife. He has a knack for looking like John Constantine when photographed. He's recently been licked on the face.

DUSTIN HARBIN needs work like a whore needs free clinics. Hire him at dustinharbin@hotmail.com.

JAMIE S. RICH is a so-so editor who actually managed to get himself chiefed at Oni Press. He also wrote a mediocre novel called Cut My Hair that many call self-indulgent, and his freelance music journalism is usually labeled as simple self-promotion by an actual music hater. He currently lives with a cat in Portland, OR, and the prematurely aged curmudgeon throws eggs at neighbor children from his window whenever the need arises.

PATRICK KELLER will probably never be allowed to write a trade paperback intro after today, and he's fine with that, so long as he gets to write a comic someday. Rebuff his dreams at blansten@yahoo.com

MATT FRACTION just wants to be friends.
