MEET THE SAVANTS

DAVE POTTER is still having the car difficulties that began immediately after the last issue of SAVANT was posted. In December. Maybe this will break the streak.

BILL KARTALOPOULOS is pleased as punch to be classing up Dave’s act at the magazine with a slick new design for SAVANT. His favorite pastimes include pacing, mumbling and counting loose change. He may leave the house one of these days, but what would be the point? Bill Kartalopoulos currently lives in New Jersey.

ZACK SMITH is the Brian Michael Bendis of internet comics websites, having written pieces for NinthArt, Slush Factory and PopImage in addition to his work here at SAVANT. His novel THE EMPIRE OF STEEL AND STONE will be published by Opi8 later this year.

GUS DAHLBERG's wife Val wrote most of this column, by virtue of the fact sheís still pissed off over paying to get into the Mid-Ohio con two years ago.

MATT TERL has been telling Dave for weeks that DK2 sucked ass. Now he tells you too. Believe his words.

STEVE PHELEY is being kept busy with his classes. But he still runs with the SAVANT crew, and not because Dave buys him drinks.

ALASDAIR STUART is the manager of the Travelling Man comic store in York, and writes for the Manx independent newspaper.

PAUL T. RIDDELL'S first serious exposure to comics came from his uncle's "Green Lantern" collection back in the early Seventies, which helps explain his interest in the whole HEAT situation. Keith Giffen's writing in "Justice League" helped bring him back to comics, which is why Riddell thinks that the only GL worth a damn is Guy Gardner. Other strange and terrible observations are available at http://www.hpoo.com.
